Job Description:
Clinical excellence is at the forefront of our multidisciplinary team in the Emergency Short Stay Unit. As a Senior Clinical Nurse, you will be working closely with an experienced team to provide high-quality care to patients requiring short-term observation, treatment, and stabilization prior to discharge or transfer. This fast-paced environment offers continuous variety and professional challenge with every shift.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for providing direct patient care, assessing patients' needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions. Your expertise will support the team in delivering exceptional patient outcomes and promoting a culture of safety and quality within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality patient care that is safe, effective, and respectful of individual patient needs
* Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, develop care plans, and implement interventions to meet those needs
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices
Requirements:
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
* Proven experience in a high-acuity clinical setting, preferably in emergency or critical care
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
