Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy construction equipment to ensure peak performance and minimal downtime on job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, and cranes.
* Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
* Troubleshoot malfunctions both in the shop and on construction sites.
* Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation.
* Order and install replacement parts; manage inventory of tools and supplies.
* Follow all company safety policies and comply with OSHA regulations.
* Work closely with equipment operators and site supervisors to prioritize repairs.
* Operate equipment for testing and verification after repairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Own toolbox with necessary mechanic tools.
* 3–5 years of recent experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
* Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
