Role
We are seeking Mechanical Maintenance Fitters and Electrical Technicians to join the Engineering team at Laucke's Bridgewater site, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.
These roles support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant and equipment through preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects.
Mechanical Maintenance Fitter responsibilities include:
* Preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant and equipment
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtime
* Inspection, testing and overhaul of machinery and systems
* Performing fabrication and welding tasks (Stick, MIG, TIG)
* Completing work orders and maintenance records in line with the maintenance program
* Supporting engineering upgrades and capital projects
* Mentoring apprentices and supporting team capability development
* Ensuring all work complies with WHS, HACCP and QMS requirements
Electrical Technician responsibilities include:
* Electrical installation, maintenance and fault finding across site equipment
* Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant standards and regulations
* Preventative maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime
* Diagnosing faults across electrical, automation and control systems
* Programming, data entry and system setup using computer-based systems
* Supporting engineering and capital projects
* Preparing technical documentation, reports and specifications
* Maintaining accurate maintenance and compliance records
* Providing mentoring and technical support within the engineering team
Both roles require flexibility, strong communication and the ability to work collaboratively to support production continuity and site performance.
Skills Required
We are looking for motivated, trade-qualified technicians who value safety, quality and teamwork within a food manufacturing environment.
You will bring:
* Trade qualification in:
* Mechanical Fitting (Mechanical role), or
* Electrical (Electrical role)
* Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance programs
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
* Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
* Experience working within WHS, HACCP and Quality Management Systems
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and maintenance systems
Mechanical role – highly regarded:
* Fabrication and welding experience (Stick, MIG, TIG)
* Hydraulics and pneumatics experience
* Use of workshop machinery (lathes, milling machines)
* Restricted electrical licence
Electrical role – highly regarded:
* Experience with PLCs, automation, networking and remote I/O
* Knowledge of power automation systems
* CAD or electrical drafting experience
Qualifications & Licences (advantageous):
* Forklift licence
* EWP
* Confined space entry
* Connect / disconnect electrical licence
* White Card
