About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support large-scale project works in the Northern Territory on a FIFO basis from Brisbane.
In this role, you will provide technical HSE advice to project teams and contracting partners, ensuring compliance with regulatory and project requirements. You will play a key role in driving safety performance, implementing assurance activities, and fostering a strong safety culture across site operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical HSE advice to project teams and contractors
* Translate project HSE requirements into contractor management plans and documentation
* Promote and embed risk management best practices across planning and execution
* Conduct site-based safety activities including toolbox talks, pre-starts and interactions
* Lead or facilitate incident investigations (ICAM, TapRoot, Essential Factors)
* Deliver coaching and mentoring to teams and contractors
* Drive HSE assurance activities to verify compliance and effectiveness of controls
* Support continuous improvement of safety systems and performance
About You
* Minimum 10+ years experience in HSE roles on large-scale FIFO construction or mining projects
* Experience across structural, mechanical, bulk earthworks or mining environments
* Strong knowledge of HSE systems, compliance, and assurance processes
* Experience leading investigations using ICAM, TapRoot or similar methodologies
* Proven ability to coach, mentor and influence teams on safety performance
* Experience working in remote or complex environments (Indigenous/community exposure highly regarded)
* Strong reporting and systems skills across Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
* Ability to facilitate high-level risk assessments (e.g. CRAWs)
* Valid Drivers Licence
Qualifications
* Advanced Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
* Investigation training (ICAM, TapRoot, Essential Factors or similar)
* Auditing qualifications (highly regarded)
* TAE40116 (desirable)
* Workers Compensation training (NT experience or willingness to obtain)
