Welcome to Belmont Hospital We are excited to be seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Critical Care team. As a member of this specialised unit, you will play a vital role in delivering competent nursing education in critical care nursing, which will in turn allow our team to provide care to patients with critical illness or injury, supporting them and their families through what is considered a very vulnerable time in their lives. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will also enjoy the variety that comes from working both morning and afternoon shifts in this role.
Key responsibilities:
* Planning and co-ordination of all aspects of clinical teaching and education in critical care
* Contribute to the development of colleagues and identify learning needs
* Supervise the rotation of students
* Support the orientation of new staff to Belmont Hospital and provide critical care orientation relevant to their level of expertise.
* Provide day to day clinical education support and clinical supervision at the point of care
* Provide 1:1 informal education
* Provide support for skill development in clinical procedures, professional development, clinical policy development and an in-service program for critical care
* Implement and evaluate education programs
As our new Clinical Nurse Educator, you will:
* Be approachable, empathetic and motivated to help your colleagues in critical care
* Have extensive and recent emergency nursing experience with a commitment to education and training
* Hold relevant post registration qualifications in Critical Care/ Emergency Nursing
* Be able to demonstrate sound clinical teaching and communication skills through previous education programme development and co-ordination.
Essential criteria:
* Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA plus relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications and clinical experience.
