This opportunity is available at our Osborne Shipyard in South AustraliaKey Responsibilities IncludeSupport the Procurement & Subcontracts Manager in the management and day to day operations of material movement, logistics and warehousingAbility to act in the Procurement & Subcontracts Manager role when requiredBe the supply chain point of contact for export control and ITAR requirements.Liaising with a broad range of stakeholders across functions including Shipyard Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain Planning, Engineering, Quality, Planning and Facilities to resolve any Supply Chain issue affecting the Production effort. (Inclusive of material shortages, missing material OQE expedition, material substitutions via Engineering, additional or replacement material requirements and any other Yard safety implications impeding material supply)Understanding and interpreting MRP reporting, chairing meetings to discuss material shortage issues with a variety of stakeholdersUnderstanding, interpreting and managing inventory and coordinate the movement of materials between the Warehouse and yard to meet the production and yard logistics schedulesAbility to be rostered on the call out roster for after hours and weekend workAbout YOUDemonstrated experience in a Material Controller or Production liaison position within supply chain or similar heavy manufacturing environmentDemonstrated proficiency in specific trade skills (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding).Exposure to shipbuilding and sustainment (highly desirable)Previous experience mentoring/supervising team would be highly regardedAnalytical, inquisitive and logical with a continuous improvement mind-setExcellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skillsComputer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite.
