About the Role
The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for maintaining business objectives related to assurance of supply, quality, service, and compliance with purchasing policies and processes.
* Maintain business objectives for assurance of supply, quality, service, and compliance with purchasing policies and processes (including P2P).
* Evaluate and process purchase requests, quotations, and orders, ensuring use of approved vendors.
* Manage the rotable asset cycle, including NCRs, repairs, and replenishment to meet operational demand.
* Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping within the MFAIS system (including drawings, quotes, and order confirmations).
* Review and authorise order/invoice discrepancies and facilitate timely supplier payments.
* Monitor and expedite purchase orders to satisfy demand, including daily review of inventory and outstanding orders.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fleet engineers, operations, and stores throughout the purchase-to-payment process.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in rail or a similar industry.
* Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing processes, forecasting, and replenishment principles (consumable, inventory, and rotables).
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience adhering to policies and procedures in a high-compliance environment.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and record-keeping abilities.
