The Opportunity
Monash University is recruiting for a highly experienced and strategic Director, Risk and Compliance. Reporting to the Executive Director, Governance, Risk and Policy, this critical position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the University’s risk and compliance management, while providing strategic advice and support to improve practices across the Monash Group.
This senior leadership role involves heading the Risk and Compliance Unit (RCU) and leading the implementation of the Monash Group Risk Management Framework. You will work closely with senior management to strengthen risk culture, improve compliance, and embed accountability for risk and compliance management throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Set the strategic vision for risk and compliance management across the Monash Group, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and achieving RCU goals.
* Oversee the Group Risk Management Framework, ensuring its robustness and integration across the organization.
* Provide strategic advice to executive management and governance bodies, delivering risk intelligence for decision-making.
* Lead and develop a high-performing team within the RCU to improve risk and compliance practices.
* Promote a strong risk culture through communication, collaboration, and education.
* Build relationships with senior staff to unify risk and compliance efforts.
