I am working with a well-established library supplier to find a Cataloguing Librarian to join their team.
This newly created permanent role with an immediate start.
This family-owned business has been in operation for the last 40 years and they currently employ 75 people.
They partner with public libraries across Australia and New Zealand to build world-class collections.
They provide services such as collection curation, item cataloguing, processing, and distribution, while also providing specialist budget management expertise.
Responsibilities
Leading a team of 10 Cataloguers
Monitoring electronic data transfers and working with the IT team to fix any tech problems.
Creating and updating templates used for cataloguing and make sure they integrate properly with internal systems.
Continually checking the quality of cataloguing and record any changes made to procedures around how cataloguing is completed.
Trying to find efficiencies with how cataloguing is done.
Spot and fix mistakes in the catalogue, and devise ways to stop them from happening again.
Answer questions from clients about cataloguing or library software.
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of at least one Library Management System (e.g. Sierra, Spydus, Libero, Symphony, Aurora, Worldshare).
Solid understanding of MARC records and metadata standards.
Experience in managing or troubleshooting EDI and system integrations.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with great attention to detail.
Ability to document and implement process improvements.
