A leading Australian manufacturer of vehicles and trailers for over-dimensional equipment transportation is looking for an experienced Engineering Production Worker to join their team in Strathalbyn, South Australia.
The Role
* Analyse and interpret engineering production drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
* Configure, operate, and adjust production machinery to shape metal stock, castings, and cut sheet metal according to specifications.
* Operate welding and electroplating equipment to achieve high-quality finishes.
* Manage furnaces and quenching systems to smelt metals and alter their structural properties efficiently.
* Utilize kilns and ovens for firing ceramics to precise temperatures.
* Process mineral ore and manage metal rolling machinery to produce uniform products.
* Cast molten metal and operate equipment to draw metal wire through dies with precision.
* Monitor and operate computer-controlled production machinery to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
* Certificate II or formal qualifications in Engineering/fabrication or relevant field.
* At least one year of experience gained in a commercial setting.
* Proficiency in preparing raw materials such as metals and alloys for casting.
* Experience in creating and assembling moulds, ensuring proper alignment and sealing.
* Familiarity with using foundry machinery such as furnaces, ladles, mixers, and sand reclamation systems.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
* Proficiency in operating equipment to weigh, measure, and mix materials as per specifications.
* Familiarity with testing methods such as non-destructive testing (NDT) and hardness testing.
* Knowledge of workplace safety standards, especially regarding molten metal handling and high-temperature environments.
* Understanding of environmental compliance, including waste management and emissions control.
