How you'll make a difference
This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to guide risk and insurance practice within the organisation including :
* Supporting the risk management framework review and implementation, and ongoing review of Council's Risk Registers.
* Providing support and advice to the organisation in relation to insurance, internal audit, compliance and risk management.
* Providing secretariate support to the Audit and Risk Committee, including liaison with the Chair and Executive, and the preparation of reports.
* Reporting and oversight on of Council's insurance program.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in specialist insurance and risk disciplines in a Local Government context.
* Ability to engage and influence with a wide cross section of the community and organisation in a professional and succinct manner to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide clear and concise advice and information to a range of internal staff, Councillors and the community.
* Ability to manage and prioritise competing requirements, demonstrating flexibility and initiative to meet key deliverables.
* Demonstrated ability to drive learning and development and process improvement.
