About the role
The Senior Manager – Resilience and Recovery is responsible for leading the strategic positioning growth and impact of Resilience and Recovery programming internally and externally. The role is responsible for managing budget forecasting, workforce planning (paid staff and volunteers) and delivery of training and capacity building in Recovery and Resilience across the country.
This pivotal role coordinates the Resilience & Recovery teams input into the design team for delivery models. This includes tender responses and then leading the implementation and operational delivery.
In addition, the Senior Manager convenes State and Territory leadership of Resilience and Recovery teams and steers the direction and integration of subject matter expertise and program operations to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed programs that support community resilience.
This high impact role champions the development of scalable recovery and resilience models and works collaboratively across internal teams and external partners to ensure long-term sustainability, influence, and sector leadership.
What you will bring:

Behavioural and technical capability requirements
* Comprehensive technical knowledge of emergency services especially in recovery and resilience
* Substantial knowledge and understanding of emergency services models including budget management and contract management
* Ability to operate under limited direction from senior employees and work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment
* High level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Undertake significant projects involving sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems
* Demonstrated expert analytical skills to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
* Strong commercial acumen
* Proven track record in managing complex stakeholder relationships, including with government, corporate donors, and sector leaders.
* Excellent understanding of recovery and resilience best practices.
* Experience in leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
* Working knowledge Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
