About the Role
An opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the regulated community and not-for-profit sector. Based in Lismore, this role supports the organisation's financial management through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and effective management of cashflow that supports essential community services. Working within a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to support operational decision‐making.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation
* Manage grant and funding accounting, including recognition, acquittals, and compliance reporting
* Coordinate end‐of‐month processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
* Assist with internal and external audit processes and maintain audit‐ready documentation
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and funding accountability
* Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls
About You
You are a detail‐focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful services to the community.
You will bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
* CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards)
* Experience in management/financial accounting, reporting and reconciliations
* Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance
* Advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
