About the Role
The Mechanical Outbye Coordinator will report to the Mechanical Superintendent at Ironbark No.1 and be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and establishment of the underground infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a systematic approach in the identification and delivery of sustainable mechanical maintenance processes and methods.
* Effectively lead and develop the mechanical maintenance crews to ensure optimal equipment performance and delivery of the mine plan.
* Manage engagement with OEMs and contractors.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives across crews.
* Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment is maintained and periodic calibrations/inspections are recorded.
* Ensure underground equipment compliance aligns with site standards.
* Assist with budget development and expenditure management via Pulse maintenance/purchasing system.
* Oversee and provide guidance on the execution of weekly work and shutdown schedules to minimize unscheduled work.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and all Fitzroy site policies and procedures.
* Perform any other duties or responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor or upline management.
Requirements:
* Mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree.
* Significant previous experience working in underground coal operations with at least 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Coordinator.
* 5 years' experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
* Supervisor Qualifications (G1,8,9 and G2).
* Standard 11 – Surface and Underground.
* Current Driver's licence.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture.
* Strong leadership and ability to motivate a high-performing team.
* Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication both written and verbal.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a 'can-do' attitude.
* Proficient in computer systems including MS Office, Pulse (or similar) databases etc.
* Flexible work attitude and sound work ethic.
