St John of God Berwick Hospital has a total of 202 beds, 8 operating theatres, a cardiac/vascular laboratory and six birthing suites. The hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including cardiology, maternity, medical and surgical, offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. The hospital has a 16 bed Critical Care Unit with 6 Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds. Our aim is to deliver the very best in health care at our Berwick Hospital. Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Supervisor at St John of God Health Care. In this role, you will be accountable for managing all environmental caregivers to ensure a high-quality cleaning service is maintained across three sites: Berwick Hospital, Frankston Hospital, and Langmore Centre. You will oversee daily environmental duties, including patient room and common area cleaning, supply and equipment management, and adherence to infection control, financial, and hospital policies. This is a permanent part time role for 32 hours a fortnight, this includes weekend work. The Position: - Closely monitor productivity targets ensuring the WHPPD targets are achieved in line with correct daily rosters. - Liaise with all environmental caregivers to ensure effective use of resources, caregivers, equipment and facilities. - Actively support and participate in accreditation. - Provide leadership and direction to all caregivers within the Environmental department, including Environmental Services Assistants and Waste Handlers. - Provide resources to efficiently meet the Environmental department work hours, annual leave targets and service goals. - Prepare rosters, ADO and leave schedules. - Ensure team compliance with all mandatory training requirements, policies and procedures, customer service and infection control standards relevant to particular roles. You will have proven experience in environmental services within the healthcare industry, ideally in a hospital setting, along with a strong track record in team management, staff development, and training. To succeed in this role, you will be skilled in managing complex rostering and staff allocation systems, and demonstrate a clear commitment to quality improvement and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all areas. Above all, patient care will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
