What can you expect?
Beginning in the workshop you will eventually progress to working on large maritime vessels. As a Fitter & Machinist you can expect to:
Removing, installing & setting to work of various mechanical items, including diagnosis of faults
Overhauling - strip, survey, repair and test various mechanical items such as pumps and valves
Various plant operations, as well as shaft alignments
Performing calculations and measurements with various instruments

Have completed year 10 studies at a minimum
Have great communication skills and enjoy interacting with different groups of people
Be able to complete maths problems and put this to use in the workplace

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
