Probation Officer Role Summary
As a Probation Services Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining community safety by supervising and case managing offenders.
This role involves undertaking court administration duties and developing and maintaining strong relationships with community networks.
* Key tasks include working autonomously, collaborating with teams, delivering high-quality services to internal and external stakeholders, and engaging in effective communication and problem-solving.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate applied knowledge and skills in areas such as planning and organisation, interpersonal and negotiation skills, awareness of sensitivity and confidentiality, and strong communication skills.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* A degree in a human services discipline is highly regarded but not required.
* Incumbents may be required to travel on official business with a valid C-class licence.
* Permanent or temporary employees must complete the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice within 12 months and achieve certification within 18 months.
