**Position Information**:
Queanbeyan South Public School provides a dynamic and inclusive educational environment for 415 students located close to the border of the Australian Capital Territory on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. Students represent 35 cultural backgrounds with 25% identifying as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander. The school has four district Supported Learning Classes and one district Opportunity Class for gifted and talented students. It also has an onsite Ngurranbai Transition to School Program running three days a week. The school has an extensive Kitchen Garden Program. The school's educational culture is driven by quality teaching with a highly-skilled professional staff enhancing student opportunities through continuous professional learning. The school looks to embrace opportunities in support of students' learning and wellbeing. The school's student welfare and discipline policy is underpinned and supported by the Positive Behaviour for Success program with its core values of Respect, Responsibility and Safety. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students and parents ensuring all feel valued, respected and known at school.
Demonstrated ability to authentically implement Indigenous perspectives into classroom practice and collaborate with?Aboriginal families and communities to improve the educational, cultural and social outcomes of all students.
Evidence of instructional leadership to inspire and lead innovative teaching and learning programs across evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs, with a focus on collaborative practice, to enhance student learning and engagement.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
