We are seeking a highly motivated Category Specialist with a knack for strategy, dedicated to delivering value within the portfolio, mitigating risks, and innovating procurement solutions.***
**Key duties and responsibilities**:
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Cultivate lasting supplier relationships founded on innovation and mutual value creation.
- Foster credible relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement efforts with business needs.
- Contribute to category management activities and Supplier Relationship Management to reinforce key supplier partnerships.
- Employ effective negotiation techniques to secure favourable contractual outcomes.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills, challenging conventional methods to find safe solutions.
- Support in identifying and mitigating risks.
**Skills, Attributes and Qualifications**:
- 3-5 years of experience in strategic procurement, category management, and supplier relationship management.
- Previous involvement in mining construction projects (Brownfields or Greenfields) is highly advantageous.
- Experience in mining, is preferred.
- Ability to influence without direct authority and a mindset for continuous improvement.
- Proven track record in stakeholder management and relationship building.
- Strong time management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent commercial acumen, interpersonal skills, and negotiation abilities**.
