The Company:
My client is a family-owned wholesale manufacturer specialising in premium frozen gourmet pastry products for the hospitality industry. Operating since 2009, the business focuses on producing consistently high-quality puff pastry and ready-to-bake savoury and sweet items designed to save kitchens time without compromising on flavour or presentation.. The company supplies cafes, restaurants, caterers and food service operators with a broad range of products, including filled pastries, pie bases and dessert shells. Ingredients are responsibly sourced, with an emphasis on quality and supporting local suppliers where possible.
The Role:
I am looking a Baker, who is hands-on, can do real baker/pastry work in a fast-paced commercial production environment. It is going to be able to be flexible in a part-time or a Full time capacity. You'll be prepping and laminating pastry dough using both manual and automatic sheeters, handling high-volume output and getting stuck in with tasks like mixing, sheeting, packaging, stock handling and keeping your workspace spotless. It's an early start role (typically 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM on weekdays), perfect if you operate with discipline, enjoy consistency and take pride in great product quality. You're joining a tight-knit, family-oriented team that values practical skills, reliability and doing things the right way.
Skills and Attributes:
* Demonstrated experience sheeting and laminating pastry dough in a production bakery or similar setting
* Qualified Baker / Pastry Chef / Pastry Cook with relevant Certificate III/Diploma (or equivalent hands-on experience)
* Strong understanding of dough development, lamination techniques and pastry quality control
* Comfortable with repetitive manual tasks and physically able to lift ~25 kg
* Flexible to support broader production needs beyond just sheeting, including packaging and stock handling
