Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Architecture & Cost Optimization
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud and on-premise infrastructure supporting hundreds of remote digital signage endpoints.
- Provide strategic recommendations on technology stacks, hardware lifecycle planning, and cost optimization across AWS, Azure, and on-site environments.
- Collaborate with executive management on infrastructure budgets, supplier cost tracking, and system expansion planning.
2. Infrastructure Engineering & Administration
- Deploy and maintain Linux-based systems, Active Directory, and file servers supporting distributed device management.
- Configure and orchestrate remote signage devices using SaltStack for provisioning, updates, and monitoring.
- Implement robust update pipelines for OS and software patches to ensure high uptime and performance across remote networks.
3. Network Engineering & Connectivity
- Manage multi-site connectivity including LTE, firewalls, and Wi‑Fi configurations to ensure secure, redundant, and monitored communications.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and network issues across distributed endpoints using automation and alert‑driven diagnostics.
- Develop and enforce network security standards, including device authentication, VPN tunnelling, and encrypted traffic policies.
4. DevOps & Automation
- Build automation pipelines and deployment tools using Python, Bash, and Go to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and recovery.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bot creation) for automated software deployment and infrastructure updates.
- Leverage Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for consistent, reproducible environment management.
5. Monitoring, Alerting & Asset Management
- Implement and manage Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch for network‑wide health monitoring, predictive alerting, and log aggregation.
- Maintain detailed asset registers, licensing records, and compliance documentation.
- Contribute to the company’s Virtual Bot (VB) monitoring framework — driven automation for proactive issue detection, rectification, and escalation.
6. Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, collaborating across technical and operations teams for rapid resolution.
- Mentor junior staff and contractors on system best practices and documentation standards.
- Participate in on‑call rotations for critical incident response, ensuring network resilience and minimal downtime.
