Role Description
The Configuration Control and Publications Development Manager is responsible for coordinating Technical Data Controls, Configuration Management and for providing expert advice on Technical Publications Development and Delivery. The position requires an understanding of and ability to adapt Configuration Controls, Data Management processes and Publications development within the Agile DevSecOps methodology adopted by the project. This role demands a highly adaptable, forward‑leaning individual with an aptitude for innovative and progressive thinking. Excellent communication skills are essential, and knowledge of change management is a desirable skill.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a Master Technical Data Index (MTDI).
* Provide detailed data management, technical, and professional advice in relation to complex work supporting technical publications development and delivery, management of technical data, and configuration change and management.
* Contribute to strategic level ILS planning to ensure the Strategic Partnership achieves the timely delivery of capability while ensuring governance requirements are adhered to.
* Work with the Strategic Partner to ensure the technical data requirements and management frameworks for the whole system lifecycle are identified, and solutions established to acquire and sustain the capability.
* Work within and maintain alignment to the series program through coordination with Engineering and Capability Integration leads.
* Provide technical data advice and guidance to ensure quality and compliance with relevant legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
* Provide expert advice on Technical Publications development and delivery in compliance with S1000D and applicable Australian standards.
* Assess technical packages, reports and processes to provide recommendations for the AIR6500 series program, ensuring safety aspects of Defence capability are incorporated.
* Collaborate with the Strategic Partner to improve integrated technical data management practices between the SP and the CoA.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in Defence CASG Materiel Logistics or Engineering & Tech Program/Project roles.
* Experience in ADF/APS roles, potentially within an aligned Capability Development or Program/Project Management area.
* Experience in Defence or parallel civilian engineering or product support disciplines.
* Knowledge of S1000D international specification for technical publications.
* Knowledge of Agile development and delivery methodology.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field that meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Other Requirements
NV2 security clearance (NV1 minimum). Travel as required by the client. Location: Newcastle. Weekly hours: 40. The role requires a working relationship with the client and may involve travel.
