Role DescriptionAssociate/Advanced Associate: These roles are open to registered behaviour support practitioners, or those interested in becoming registered from relevant allied health disciplines or from a disability or mental health background (for example, psychiatric nursing or special education) background.
Ideally, you will have knowledge and an understanding of:Positive Behaviour Support practice Evidence-based and best-practice support principlesRelevant Standards including the NDIS Behaviour Support (and Restrictive Practices) Rules, 2018 and NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission.
What you’ll need to be successfulExperience in behaviour assessment and intervention with individuals with disability presentations including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, mental health conditions and complex comorbidities and psychosocial willingness to learn and a commitment to providing high quality individualised supportYour own reliable vehicle and an Australian Drivers LicenceA NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check (or willingness to obtain these before commencement)
Highly desirable (but not essential)A qualification in Psychology/ Behavioural Sciences, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Disability or Psychiatric NursingExperience in behaviour support practice
