Dental Assistant – Community Dental Clinic

AWAHS is seeking a motivated, caring and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our highly skilled group of passionate Dentists and support staff.

About the role:
You will
Assist the dental clinicians chairside during treatments and examinations, information and follow ups with patients, delivering these services in a culturally appropriate manner
Prepare and provide equipment, dental materials and instruments for patients according to dental treatments
Maintain a clean, safe and culturally welcoming environment through proper sterilisation and infection control practices
Help keep the clinic running smoothly with bookings, stock control and day-to-day administration procedures
Participate in oral health promotions
Work as part of the dental team and broader AWAHS team to provide accurate information to patients and the community
What We Are Looking For:
Selection Criteria
Certificate 111 in Dental Assisting or equivalent with more than 12 months clinical experience and knowledge in dental nursing
Demonstrated understanding of infection control procedures
A caring, people-first attitude and a strong attention to detail
A team player who can take initiative and work with pride
A commitment to cultural respect, confidentiality, and delivering person-centred dental care that is responsive to each individual's needs and experiences
Strong computer literacy and ability to use computerised patient information systems
Current Driver's License
