Dental Assistant – Community Dental Clinic
· Part-time position – 1 day per week to start
· Opportunity for additional shifts as needed
· Hourly rate from $30+, based on skills and experience
AWAHS is seeking a motivated, caring and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our highly skilled group of passionate Dentists and support staff.

About the role:
You will
* Assist the dental clinicians chairside during treatments and examinations, information and follow ups with patients, delivering these services in a culturally appropriate manner
* Prepare and provide equipment, dental materials and instruments for patients according to dental treatments
* Maintain a clean, safe and culturally welcoming environment through proper sterilisation and infection control practices
* Help keep the clinic running smoothly with bookings, stock control and day-to-day administration procedures
* Participate in oral health promotions
* Work as part of the dental team and broader AWAHS team to provide accurate information to patients and the community
What We Are Looking For:
Selection Criteria
* Certificate 111 in Dental Assisting or equivalent with more than 12 months clinical experience and knowledge in dental nursing
* Demonstrated understanding of infection control procedures
* A caring, people-first attitude and a strong attention to detail
* A team player who can take initiative and work with pride
* A commitment to cultural respect, confidentiality, and delivering person-centred dental care that is responsive to each individual's needs and experiences
* Strong computer literacy and ability to use computerised patient information systems
* Current Driver's License
