Job Title: Senior Project Designer
We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating project civil / structural design work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement design plans for medium-sized projects or assignments in support of global business units.
* Produce 3D models, drawings, and documentation in accordance with established design and scope.
* C coordinate and interface with the day-to-day technical work of civil / structural engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters.
* Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
* Prepare or oversee the preparation of civil / structural design estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
* Support the development of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Bechtel design guides, appropriate Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs), and administrative practices.
* Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval on phases of work.
* Review key civil / structural engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries.
* Mentor civil / structural designers and drafters by providing on-the-job training for their professional development.
* E nsure civil / structural systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Requirements:
* 8 -10 years of relevant work experience.
* Or requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 12 - 14 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills:
* Design of a wide range of industrial structures including buildings, material handling structures, equipment supporting structures, building and equipment foundations, retaining walls, etc.
* Design and modeling of concrete and structural steel in 3D environments.
* Assisting in the preparation of discipline material take-offs.
* Work in 2D environments while preparing drawings.
* Leading a small structural design team.
* Interaction with broader project teams, including interfaces with other disciplines.
