The role is part of the Wellbeing Workforce, providing support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns and enhancing access to wellbeing and mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
Assess client needs, develop care plans, connect clients with resources and services, advocate for their rights and offer emotional support.
Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities to facilitate partnerships in decision making for enhancement of all students' learning.
Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, social and emotional wellbeing.
Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services, and assist students and families to access this support.
Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter-agency/networks relevant to the position.
