Consultant Psychiatrist For all people in Australia living with mental health and wellbeing challenges to live a life that is meaningful to them.
Position Details Part Time (0.2 FTE) Permanent Position Classification: Individual agreement with an hourly rate of $230 - $280 per hour + Superannuation Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year Location: Burswood, WAAbout your new role The Consultant Psychiatrist plays a pivotal role in the clinical governance, supervision, and quality oversight of the YES service.
The psychiatrist provides psychiatric assessment, contributes to collaborative treatment planning, and offers clinical guidance across the multidisciplinary team.
This role supports the safe and effective delivery of care in line with the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations (NSQMHCMO Standards), and contributes to evidence-based practice, service evaluation, and development of integrated care pathways for young people across primary, community, and acute systems.

Connecting Collaborating Learning Belonging What will Neami offer Professional development through regular practice development sessions and coaching with your supervisor Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS - providing holistic health and wellness supports and resources to Neami staff and their immediate family Flexible work arrangements are available for maintaining your work-life balance What you will bring to the role Provides psychiatric assessment and review of consumers as requested Maintains expert diagnostic and assessment skills Provides clinical support and advice to the team to ensure high quality assessments and interventions to resolve or ameliorate emotional distress of consumers Supports team to ensure a strength-based approach is used when completing a mental health and needs assessment Support collaborative care planning and clinical reviews with the YES team, including peer and family input.
Provides formal and informal clinical case reviews Ensure risk and safety assessments are conducted in line with youth-focused and trauma-informed practice.
Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols, care pathways, and escalation procedures.
Engage in regular case discussions and multidisciplinary reviews to support clinical decision-making.
What the role requires Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (police check) – disclosable outcomes considered Current Working with Children Check – required before commencement of work Registration with AHPRA with a current annual practicing certificate Membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Maintain relevant Professional Indemnity and Public Liability $ 20 million Possesses relevant experience, skills and qualifications in Psychiatry Current Australian drivers licence and access to a car Australian working rights How to apply The terms and conditions of the role are listed in the attached position description (please select paperclip icon).
