Are you a detail-driven Senior Financial Accountant who thrives on solving complex problems? An industry-leading Energy company is seeking an experienced professional for a 6-month contract to support a high-visibility project focused on data integrity, transactional accuracy, and audit readiness.
The Role
In this hands-on position, you will take ownership of identifying, analysing, and correcting financial transactions that are incorrect, incomplete, or inconsistent. You'll be the go-to expert for deep-dive investigations, providing clarity where the numbers don't quite add up and ensuring the business meets compliance and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and analyse financial transactions to identify discrepancies
* Conduct detailed investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions
* Perform GL reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
* Reconcile complex accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting
* Partner with internal teams to validate data, resolve issues, and implement improvements
* Prepare supporting work-papers and documentation for audit
* Assist with month-end processes and ensure alignment with accounting standards
What You'll Bring
* CPA/CA qualification
* Extensive experience as a Senior Financial Accountant, ideally in a complex or high-volume environment
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and investigative mindset
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Experience preparing for external audit highly regarded
* Background in the Energy or Utilities sector is advantageous, but not essential
