The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Medical Physics Technician to join our South Australia Medical Physics team. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with the Regional Medical Physics Manager to provide exceptional medical physics support across three Icon Cancer Centres in South Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or professionals eager to gain hands‐on experience with advanced radiotherapy technology and quality assurance activities. In this role you'll gain exposure to cutting‐edge equipment, including Varian and Elekta linear accelerators, Siemens and GE CT scanners, WoMed superficial unit and Eclipse treatment planning system, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of medical physicists, radiation therapists, and engineers. This diverse experience will allow you to develop a versatile skill‐set, deepen your understanding of medical physics practice, and play a key role in ensuring the delivery of world‐class cancer care.

Responsibilities

* Provide medical physics support for routine quality assurance activities.
* Assist with the maintenance and technical support of radiation oncology equipment.
* Work independently and collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of day‐to‐day medical physics activities.
* Contribute to exceptional patient care through precise and efficient support.

Comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.

What you will bring

We are looking for a motivated individual with a proactive approach to problem‐solving and excellent communication skills. You thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment and are ready to develop your skills in medical physics and equipment support.

Essential Criteria

* Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering.
* Upon completion of training, ability to perform routine medical physics tasks independently following approved work instructions and procedures.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‐paced environment.
* Demonstrated high levels of communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary team.
* Capable of self‐directed work and possessing excellent problem‐solving, diagnostic, and technical skills.
* Willingness to travel across sites and for training as required.
