Full-time Carpenter Required in Waterford, QLD 4133
Seaside Home Constructions is seeking a motivated and organised Carpenter who takes responsibility and pride in their work, and who can join our team seamlessly. Experience in Building and construction with a solid Carpentry trade background is required.
Immediate Start, Remuneration package ($80k - $92k)
Skills and Experience
- Must be an experienced Carpenter with general knowledge and skills with own basic hand tools/power tools/battery tools
- Qualified Carpenter or Cert III in Carpentry and white card (both essential)
- Multi-skilled with the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
Position Description
- Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
- Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
- Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts
- Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
- Cutting materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts
- Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures.
- Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
- Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
- Cutting wood joints
- Constructs and installs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, and cuts, shapes and fits timber parts to form structures and fittings.
- Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
- Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
- Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
- Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
- Repairing existing fittings
