About Mining Engineer Role
We are seeking a skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at Mount Pleasant. Your expertise will be vital in shaping the future of our operation.
Key Responsibilities
* The Mining Engineer will manage short-term plans and schedules, aligning them with medium-to-long-term goals.
* You'll have opportunities to explore drill and blast planning, enhancing your knowledge within the operation.
* Your main duties will include:
o Orientating designs and schedules for optimal fleet mix across planning horizons.
o Managing Drill and Blast systems effectively.
o Collaborating with mine planning teams to strategize and coordinate Thiess plans.
o Engaging with key stakeholders on operational challenges.
o Communicating evolving plans within the team.
o Building relationships with operations teams for strong working dynamics.
o Analyzing coal reconciliation along with mine rehabilitation design, planning, and execution.
o Reporting on weekly and monthly production metrics.
o Flexibility in work arrangements may be considered.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or equivalent). A minimum of 2 years' experience in an operational mining engineering capacity (preferably open cut) is required. Proficiency with software such as Vulcan, Deswik, or Spry is essential. Commitment to health and safety best practices is necessary for success. Excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills are also required.
