Safety Officer – Location: Northam, WA
We are seeking a proactive and detail‐oriented Safety Officer to support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of our client's safety systems based in Northam, Western Australia. The role is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys working collaboratively with contractors and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing, implementing, and reviewing Safety Management Plan documentation
* Reviewing contractor safety management plans and related documentation
* Conducting and participating in risk assessment and hazard identification workshops
* Conducting Alcohol and Drug Testing in accordance with company and legislative requirements
* Undertaking and supporting ICAM‐level incident investigations
* Providing practical safety advice and support to site personnel and contractors
* Assisting with continuous improvement of WHS systems and processes
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
* Construction White Card
* Strong computer literacy with the ability to use common Microsoft Office applications
* Sound understanding of WHS legislation and safety management systems
* Good communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
Desirable
* Diploma of Work Health & Safety
* Previous experience in a similar Safety Officer or WHS role
* Experience working with contractors and conducting formal risk assessments
