About the area
The Australian SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) is part of a global network supporting the SKA Observatory (SKAO), which is building the world’s largest radio telescopes. AusSRC is a collaboration between CSIRO, Curtin University, Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, and The University of Western Australia, working together to support the Australian and international SKA science communities through advanced data processing and software development.
About the opportunity
o Play a key role in developing innovative software solutions for astronomical data processing.
o Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed research team.
o Contribute to the global SKA Regional Centre Network and national radio astronomy projects.
About you
o You hold a relevant degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
o You have experience developing Machine Learning or AI solutions.
o You bring strong expertise in distributed or enterprise software development.
o You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o You have experience in astronomy or other computation-focused science domains.
Special Requirements
Occasional intrastate, interstate, and international travel may be required by the successful candidate.
Flexibility to work across time zones and outside standard hours for meetings.
