The Role
GNM Group QLD is seeking a dedicated and motivated Contracts Administrator to join our team for a project-based role in Cairns. This role involves managing contract compliance, procurement, cost tracking, and reporting to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil construction, strong contract administration skills, and the ability to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure project compliance with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals, and standards.
* Administer site construction and procurement programs.
* Assist with purchasing, including request for quotes from suppliers (RFQs) and raising purchase orders.
* Capture cost and resource usage for claims as directed.
* Complete client monthly reports.
* Identify and reduce project expenses to increase profit.
* Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.
* Communicate risk controls and actions involved in the delivery of projects.
* Report on project performance, compliance, and defects/non-conformance.
* Assist with estimating, tendering, and bid management activities.
* Assist with planning construction methods and procedures, coordinating labour and material supply.
* Be aware of contract documents and assist in negotiations with clients or subcontractors as necessary.
* Consult with architects, engineers, and other technical personnel to ensure design requirements are met.
* Interpret regulations/codes of practice to direct work progress in line with construction schedules.
* Record variations from design drawings or specifications for submission to the client.
* Create and maintain Quality Assurance documents, monitoring and inspecting installations during construction.
* Carry out all tasks in accordance with GNM's ISO-certified safe systems of work.
* Document and record all project work in accordance with company policy and procedure.
Experience and Capability:
* Previous experience in the civil construction or heavy industrial sectors.
* Previous experience as a Contracts Administrator in the civil construction industry.
* Sound knowledge of contract terms and conditions, with an understanding of commercial and legal issues impacting project delivery.
* Experience administering contract obligations, including payment claims, notice of delays, EOTs, and variations.
* Ability to prioritise tasks under pressure, working towards deadlines and targets.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with MS Office and other construction management software.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with project teams, clients, and industry contacts.

This is a project-based role in Cairns .
