About us
The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role
The Claims Officer will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of transactional activities, particularly in regard to payment of claims. The Claims Officer will also provide support to employers and workers in completing claims, perform day-to-day administration of tasks within the Claims team, and act as the initial point of contact for all claims related matters. The successful applicant will join the growing Claims Team and be involved in the development and implementation of new processes.
About you
Our ideal Claims Officer will;
1. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
2. Demonstrated ability to form and develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
3. Be adaptable and flexible in their work, able to meet set timeframes and pivot tasks and reprioritise when needed
4. Have a can do approach to problems, be solutions focused with the ability to think outside the box and support continuous improvement in the claims processes
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications in particular MS Excel
