Quantity Surveyor – Structural Integrity Projects

Chandler Macleod proudly partners with a major Tier 1 mining company to source an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their on-site team in the Pilbara. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile structural integrity projects and play a key role in cost control, contractor management, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and track the installed quantities of remediation works completed by the contractor.
Monitor and track daily labour quantities engaged by the contractor, including sign-off of day worksheets.
Monitor and track the contractor's plant, equipment and materials on a daily basis, including sign-off of day worksheets.
Review, verify and comment on the contractor's daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
Review and verify the contractor's payment claims to confirm the quantities claimed are true and correct.
Support the project lead with developing, tracking and updating the monthly project cost forecast.
Assist the project team with developing the contractor's execution strategy, scope of work document and bill of quantities.
Assist the project team with assuring contractor conformance to Quality and HSE plans.
Assist project advisors in assuring conformance to risk assessments.
Lead field activities including pre-task hazard assessment reviews, critical control verifications, quality-safety interactions and checks on the spotlight topic.
Support the project engineer by reviewing thickness test reports and approving compensation plating remediation plans and installed quantities.
Document and track any design and/or scope changes, including updating the project cost forecast.
Attend weekly progress meetings with contractor.
Attend shutdown meetings with contractor and walk-around as required.
Review provisional sum spend requests in line with scope of works.
Provide support to contracts specialist on variation requests.
Assist project planner with contractor performance analysis review.
Administrative Duties
Raise purchase requisitions as required.
Manage completion of ongoing training requirements.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or a similar field.
Experience in construction estimating or finance is advantageous.
Strong understanding of multiple disciplines: mechanical, structural, electrical, civil, scaffolding, blasting & painting.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project.
