Skills Required:
We are seeking a highly skilled BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) Expert with proven experience in Cisco and/or Nokia platforms, responsible for testing, design validation, and implementation of broadband edge network solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with BNG architectures, subscriber management, and network automation tools (Ixia, NetConf, NSO), ensuring end-to-end delivery quality in large-scale service provider environments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct testing, validation, and certification of BNG configurations and software releases (Cisco & Nokia).
Review and validate BNG design and architecture documents for accuracy, scalability, and compliance with network standards.
Support implementation and deployment of BNG platforms, including configuration, integration, and acceptance testing.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts to validate functionality and performance.
Collaborate with network architects, design engineers, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery and transition to production.
Use tools like Ixia traffic generator for throughput and performance benchmarking.
Leverage NetConf/YANG, Cisco NSO, or other automation frameworks for configuration validation and regression testing.
Troubleshoot issues during testing and deployment phases and provide root-cause analysis and remediation plans.
Provide documentation, test reports, and sign-off for network readiness.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in IP Networking, with at least 3+ years focused on BNG platforms (Cisco ASR9k, Nokia 7750, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of BNG concepts – subscriber sessions, DHCP, PPPoE, QoS, IPoE, Policy Control, and Multicast.
Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS-XR and/or Nokia SR OS platforms.
Practical exposure to test and traffic tools such as Ixia, Spirent, or equivalent.
Working knowledge of network automation tools – NetConf, YANG models, Cisco NSO, Ansible, or Python-based frameworks.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex network testing scenarios.
Experience in design reviews, configuration audits, and validation for large-scale Service Provider networks.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Good to Have
Certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Nokia NRS II, or equivalent.
Familiarity with BNG virtualization, SRv6, and cloud-native networking.
Experience in Optus or other Tier-1 Service Provider environments.
Exposure to test automation pipelines using Jenkins or CI/CD frameworks.
