About the Role
As the Senior HR Business Partner for Western Australia you will work between the Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre in Northam and Perth Immigration Detention Centre in Redcliffe.
In your new role you will promote Human Resources and people management practices to achieve organisational success through excellent stakeholder relationships and continuous service improvement activities including the coordination, development and implementation of HR solutions that address key workforce challenges for the medium and long-term.
Key Responsibilities
* Use a coaching approach to facilitate effective, consistent leadership that empowers people management, enabling managers to assume increasing responsibility for all aspects of people management
* Provide strategic and operational HR advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment strategies, and managing changing processes, providing risk analysis to support this
* Work in partnership with senior leaders to identify and manage the people implications of strategic and business plans and other developments
* Support leaders to execute workforce planning to identify the capacity and capability of the organisation to deliver its objectives, in accordance with plans and resources developed by the National Manager, Workforce Planning, Reporting & Systems
* Seeking support as required from the National People & Culture team, National Manager Employee & Industrial Relations and National Manager, Safety & Wellbeing
* Manage and resolve employee relations, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of the agency's policies, best practice and employment legislation
About you
* Demonstrated experience in generalist HR roles with a sound knowledge of contemporary HR strategies and practices, including strong performance management, industrial relations, and employee relations case management experience
* Proven track record in developing and maintaining highly effective stakeholder relationships, establishing a reputation for being a trusted advisor and business partner
* Proven ability to interpret and apply a range of industrial agreements, providing advice to management and employees using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated experience working effectively in a large, fast paced, complex and dynamic organisational environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including well developed negotiation and influencing capabilities
* Ability to work in the centres 5 days per week split between Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre and Perth Immigration Detention Centre
* Ability to travel both interstate and overseas as and when required to meet the needs of the business
* Unlimited working rights in Australia
* Ability to pass pre-employment checks including an Australian Federal Police check & Medical Assessments which may include a Drug & Alcohol test
