Reporting to the Residential Services Manager, this part-time Education Coordinator - Aged Care role at Akooramak is responsible for providing training and education to the nursing and care staff at our aged care facility in Warwick, QLD. This is a strategic position that plays a key part in ensuring our staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents.
What you'll be doing
* Develop and deliver training programs covering a range of aged care topics, including clinical care, infection control, dementia care, and regulatory compliance
* Coordinate the onboarding and orientation of new nursing and care staff, ensuring they receive comprehensive training
* Identify learning and development needs through needs assessments and feedback, and design tailored training solutions
* Maintain detailed training records and provide progress reports to management
* Collaborate with the clinical leadership team to ensure training aligns with best practice and regulatory requirements
* Participate in the continuous improvement of care procedures and practices
What we're looking for
* Registered Nurse with a current AHPRA registration and at least 2 years' experience in an aged care setting
* Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering effective training programs for nursing and care staff
* Strong understanding of aged care regulations, standards, and best practice
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and motivate staff
* Proficient in the use of learning management systems and training software (training available)
* Flexible and adaptable approach to accommodate the varying needs of the aged care facility
