Position Overview
With exciting growth happening across our operations, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Open Pit Geologist to join our team, supporting our growing open pit mines at our Mungari Operations. The Senior Open Pit Geologist is critical to the performance of the Geology Team by providing technical leadership, knowledge and guidance on all geological tasks related to mine production, grade control and resource development.
This opportunity will allow you to further develop your technical skills, learning and engaging with stakeholders across Mungari and the broader Evolution team.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervising the Open Pit Geology team's activities, including geological contractors' activities, to ensure delivery to plan in respect of production, mining development, grade control drilling and cost/ounce.
* Performing critical analysis of geological drilling, mapping, and sampling (QAQC) to ensure effective integration of geological, structural, and analytical data into Resource Definition and Grade Control models.
* Preparing and maintaining grade control and geological models in conjunction with the Resource Geology team.
* Ensuring the implementation of optimal drill programs to provide accurate delineation of economic mineralisation and potential extension of economic mineralisation amenable to mining.
* Being actively involved in the creation of short‐term forecasts and the creation of the Geology department's Operational and Capital budgets.

You will either be a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area, or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12‐hour day) roster, Thursday to Thursday.
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences, with relevant industry experience in an open pit environment.
* Drilling contractor management experience is essential.
* A sound understanding of geology work standards and practices including grade control processes and relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
* Intermediate to advanced skills with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog or similar) and database software (acQuire or similar) with OrePro3D skills an advantage.
* Experienced in technical report writing, with a strong attention to detail and problem‐solving abilities, comfortable with working to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
