Job Summary
The Piping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and directing piping installation operations within the pre‐assembly yard for the construction team. Supervises all direct craft professionals, subordinate contractor services, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction performance follows relevant safety standards, erection specifications, and is delivered within required schedules and budgets. In this role, you will liaise between engineering and field operations and provide guidance on executing constructability plans. You will lead construction design decisions, interdisciplinary reviews, and project staffing. You will monitor construction performance and review deliverables. You will use your expertise to improve Bechtel's existing methods by initiating project assessments and implementing improvements.
Major Responsibilities
- Implement the project ES&H program and quality control program.
- Supervise, coordinate and/or direct craft activities as assigned for the structural disciplines.
- Coordinate craft safety training and always enforce safe work practices in conjunction with the ES&H staff.
- Plan the craft manpower and interface with Industrial Relations for craft recruitment, hiring, and skills training programs.
- Oversee the needs of the structural crews for craft personnel, subcontractor support, construction services, construction equipment, tools, and consumables and optimize their utilization.
- Work closely with other lead discipline superintendents, supervisors and coordinate efforts and activities to meet overall project requirements.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping throughout the work area.
Education and Experience Requirements
- 10 years of related large industrial or mining construction projects and piping installation and testing experience.
- 5 years of supervisory experience in piping roles with experience in managing the building process final piping system acceptances.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of construction operations at the jobsite.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Bechtel Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Core Processes and Bechtel's Zero Accidents philosophy.
- Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel's Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
- Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.
- Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with current BSAP standards.
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards and applicable code requirements.
