Position Summary
This permanent part‐time (4 days per week, 0.8 FTE) itinerant teaching role supports students with hearing impairment from diagnosis to Year 12 across the Northern Beaches and adjacent North Shore schools. The position is supervised by the Assistant Principal for Hearing at Cromer Public School.
Responsibilities
* Deliver subject‐based instruction to students with hearing impairment across a range of educational settings.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate inclusive learning plans that address the diverse needs of deaf and hard‐of‐hearing students.
* Maintain strong, positive relationships with families, schools, and external agencies to support students.
* Travel between worksites as required, possessing a current driver's licence and motor vehicle insurance.
* Collaborate with the school team and the Assistant Principal for Hearing to coordinate support services.
Qualifications and Experience
* Full approval to teach hearing impairment (diagnosis to Year 12) in NSW.
* Proven experience in inclusive education for deaf and hard‐of‐hearing students.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and assess high‐quality inclusive learning plans.
* Knowledge of Key Word Sign or Auslan and willingness to use augmentative communication systems.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with families and partners.
Conditions
Unconditional full approval to teach is required. Applicants without a current full approval must commence the application process concurrently with this position.
Benefits
Remuneration package valued up to $156,253.00, with a base salary ranging from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00 plus leave loading and employer contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.
