Senior Quantity Surveyor Lead
Job Description:
Currie & Brown is looking for a senior chartered quantity surveyor to work on a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years' technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy. They will also be well-developed technically, with skills in preparing tender documents, estimates and cost plans, measurement from drawings, construction technology, contract and law etc.
As a key member of the team, they will play a leading role in setting team objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player. They will also be passionate about quantity surveying and furthering their career with a leading construction consultancy.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage Preliminary Cost Advice / Project Feasibility Study / Cost Planning / Budget Establishment including but not limited to: preparing and managing the required design proposal and client's requirement and refect into the cost advise for the entire project.
* Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
* Prepare and manage the Pre-Contract Stage including but not limited to: advising on a procurement strategy, identifying commercial risks and developing suitable responses.
* Obtaining and following up on quotations from main contractors, subcontractors & suppliers for Pre-Tender Estimate / Cost Study / Cost Advise purpose.
* Review and check tender submissions for accuracy, level of pricing, advising on errors and qualifications and, if necessary, negotiating the offers.
* Managing and monitoring project costs in line with the approved budget.
