Thrive Sydney is looking for a senior communications leader ready to take ownership of some of the country's most high-profile, culturally visible brand portfolios.
This is a Client Partner opportunity designed for a commercially sharp, culturally literate leader who knows how to shape narratives that build brand credibility, Culture CurrencyTM and drive Excess Earned AttentionTM at scale. Reporting to the Managing Director, Sydney with mentorship and strategic input into the growth of the Sydney office. Thrive will consider a FTE permanent, or a longer-term contract role for the right person.
The Role
As Client Partner, you will lead a marquee portfolio of major global enterprise brands — acting as strategic lead, commercial owner and team leader across integrated earned-first programs. The portfolio includes big budget consumer brands and high profile C-suite stakeholder relations.
This is not a traditional group account management role.
It's for someone who understands how big brands operate, how enterprise-level clients make decisions, and how to build programs that influence culture, industry and community — not just media.
You will work directly with senior clients, guide integrated strategy across PR, social, creator and partnerships, and be accountable for both client growth and team performance.

What You'll Do
Lead High-Profile Consumer Portfolios
* Shape and evolve brand narratives that drive relevance and long-term reputation
* Deliver integrated, earned-led programs that cut through at scale
* Guide senior clients across marketing, brand and corporate stakeholders
* Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and annual strategic planning
Build Culture CurrencyTM
* Identify cultural tension points and opportunities for brands to show up meaningfully
* Partner with creative, social and influencer teams to create work that travels
* Push beyond traditional PR into ideas that earn attention across multiple touchpoints
Deliver Excess Earned AttentionTM
* Ensure campaigns are insight-led, creatively strong and commercially effective
* Elevate standards of storytelling, integration and execution
* Oversee risk management and reputation protection at senior level
Commercial & Operational Leadership
* Own portfolio revenue and profitability
* Govern scopes, forecasting and fee-to-cost ratios
* Minimise over-servicing and drive efficiency without compromising quality
* Contribute to Sydney's overall growth targets
* Cost control and management of portfolio budgets and supplier management
Lead & Elevate the Team
* Mentor and develop Senior Consultants and Consultants
* Drive performance, accountability and retention
* Champion Thrive's values and "OneTeam" collaboration across office
* Support recruitment and build a strong local talent pipeline
Growth & Visibility
* Identify organic growth opportunities within existing clients
* Contribute to major new business pitches and conversions
* Maintain strong industry presence and senior networks
What You'll Bring
* 12+ years' experience in a dynamic agency environment
* Proven leadership at Associate Director / Client Partner / GAD level
* Strong consumer brand experience across large, complex portfolios
* Experience running accounts $2M+ single accounts and managing multi-client and multi-industry portfolios
* Demonstrated commercial acumen and P&L ownership
* Confidence presenting to CMO/MD-level clients
* A culturally literate mindset with strong instinct for relevance and timing
* Calm authority and resilience in high-pressure environments
