About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, you will be solely responsible for the end to end processing of four monthly payrolls to ensure Tattarang's financial obligations to employees are accurate and met on a timely basis and be responsible for compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
What you will do
1. Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing including journaling.
2. Performing analytical review of month-to-month payroll variance reports, reconciling payroll related balance sheet accounts.
3. Monthly submission of payroll tax and other reporting requirements as a DGE.
4. Act as subject matter expert with regards to employee payroll, state legislative requirements including pay as you go tax, payroll tax (where appropriate), maximum superannuation cap, superannuation guarantee contributions and responding to staff queries.
5. Keeping abreast of changes to legislative requirements.
6. Perform and provide ad hoc calculations to leadership including scenario analysis of total fixed remuneration (TFR).
7. Be able to calculate termination and redundancies and provide recommendations to the People and Culture team.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (incl. salary sacrifice provider and payroll service provider) including establishing service agreements and renewals.
9. Lead process automation and time and attendance activities within Payroll to drive efficiencies to develop and promote technology-first solutions.
10. Support People and Culture with the annual salary review processes and provide support with data for the compliance reporting e.g. WGEA.
11. Ensure payroll system is set up for appropriate submissions to the Australian Tax Office and support tax with the fringe benefit reporting.
12. Complete the end of financial year processes and reconcile the payroll tax and other payroll related costs (as required) e.g. workers compensation.
13. Collate documentation and respond to queries, as required during external audit process (if applicable).
14. Support Financial Controller with inbound regulatory reviews, business activity surveys and ad hoc compliance related requests.
About You
1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Finance or business related field.
2. Intermediate to advance knowledge of ADP and Microsoft Office.
3. Experience across all areas of payroll (working across multiple payroll runs) and can demonstrate working in a hybrid role between HR and Finance will be vital.
4. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
5. Good organisation, planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
