Your Position:
As a Controls Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of critical Baggage Handling Systems (BHS). You will be instrumental in the full lifecycle of automation projects and ensuring systems meet the demands of modern airport environments.
Your key focus areas in this role are as follows:
* Designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, and other control systems.
* Planning and designing automation systems.
* Documenting engineering calculations, electrical drawings and manuals.
* Working within the team to define scope, timelines, and costs.Act as the technical lead
* Ensuring the reliability and efficiency of automation systems and troubleshooting issues.
* Ensuring that all automation systems comply with relevant safety standards
* Identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation, developing and implementing new technologies.
* Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with automation projects and systems.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualified in Electrical Engineering, or extensive industry experience.
Must have permanent right to work in Australia or be an Australian/New Zealand citizen
Experience:
Extensive experience in a related automation field.
Experience in industrial automation, preferably in airport or materials handling system
Skills:
* Expert in PLC programming, SCADA systems and other automation technologies.
* Working knowledge of machine safety requirements and safety in design procedures.
* Development and adherence to engineering design standards.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
* Working knowledge of AS3000 and related standards and regulations.
* Ability to use CAD software AutoCAD Electrical or EPlan to develop electrical schematic drawings.
* Well developed verbal and written communication.
* Organised and able to work within a team to meet deadlines.
