Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA
Flinders University Rural and Remote Health SA (FRRHSA) facilitates high quality multidisciplinary health education and research in our State's regional areas.
We have a strong national and international reputation for providing community-engaged inter-professional training for medical, nursing, and allied health students. This includes the Doctor of Medicine Rural Stream (MDRS) program and multidisciplinary rural clinical placements.
Through this practice, we bring new and exciting opportunities to actively engage and work with rural communities.
About the Role
This Teaching Specialist (Clinical/Practitioner) position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical education within the SA Rural Medical Program. Based at the Renmark Campus, the Lecturer will focus on teaching clinical skills and knowledge through simulation, developing interprofessional curricula, and fostering strong relationships with rural and Indigenous communities. The role requires an innovative educator committed to enhancing student learning experiences and supporting the University's strategic vision for excellence in education.
* Deliver engaging clinical skills teaching and simulation-based learning across medical and health disciplines.
* Contribute to curriculum design, review, and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality, student-centred education.
* Provide academic support, professional advice, and career guidance to students while promoting employability.
* Build and maintain partnerships with rural health services, Indigenous communities, and allied health professionals to support clinical education.
About You
You are an experienced health professional and educator with a passion for innovative teaching and clinical simulation. You bring contemporary clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to student success. Your ability to design engaging curricula and foster collaborative relationships will ensure excellence in rural medical education.
* Relevant doctoral qualification or equivalent clinical experience and standing in health.
* Demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching, including simulation and clinical education.
* Strong curriculum development skills and understanding of accreditation processes.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students, staff, and industry.
