About the Team
Effective stakeholder engagement is an essential enabler to support the Commission's role as the national regulator of aged care quality and safety and in driving reforms within the aged care sector. The Engagement and Events team is responsible for coordinating the Commission's engagement with key stakeholders. Key stakeholders include older Australians, aged care providers and workers, industry peak bodies, partners and government.
About the Role
The role of Senior Officer, Secretariat is responsible for supporting the delivery of quality, end‐to‐end secretariat support for the Commission's key stakeholder meetings and forums. The role assists in ensuring that meetings are efficiently coordinated and supported by clear agendas, timely papers, accurate minutes and tracked action items.
Through strong relationship building and strategic engagement, the position supports collaboration with peak bodies and other key stakeholders, coordinates feedback on Commission initiatives and helps gather insights to strengthen capability, inform decision making and improve regulatory outcomes.
Position Duties
* Support professional secretariat services for the Commission Consultative Forum, and a range of other key stakeholder meetings, including:
o coordinating and scheduling meetings
o liaising with attendees on agenda and action items
o attending meetings and documenting accurate meeting notes
o drafting and finalising agendas, papers, minutes and high‐level communication for an executive audience, within strict timeframes
o maintaining responsiveness and actively monitoring and updating action item registers and forward schedules
* Support stakeholder engagement and feedback on key initiatives, projects and topics that support our functions.
* Assist the Assistant Director, Secretariat with the management of critical and sensitive issues to deliver consistent strategic and quality messaging in line with current policies and objectives and an awareness of emerging issues in the aged care sector.
Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)
* Demonstrated ability to provide effective secretariat support at the level of a board or other high‐level forums/committees.
* Demonstrated ability to engage with a range of stakeholders to support the delivery of shared outcomes.
* Highly developed written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to varied audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, communicate with professionalism and influence stakeholders where required.
* Contribute positively to team outcomes, supporting collaboration and ensuring tasks are delivered to a high standard.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Position Notes
* Salary offered will be between $99,784–$112,571 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with 15.4% superannuation.
* Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
* Non‐ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months, with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
* Merit Pool established through this selection process may be used to fill this or future ongoing or non‐ongoing vacancies.
