About your new role:
As a member of the Payroll Team situated within the People and Culture Department, this role entails offering comprehensive support to both the Payroll Team and the broader Finance Team across a spectrum of initiatives. These include pivotal projects like the introduction of a new Payroll System, alongside delivering invaluable guidance and expert insights aimed at optimising operational efficiency.
Moreover, this position carries the responsibility of assisting the Payroll Team, ensuring the provision of precise, punctual, and effective payroll services to Baptistcare staff. This opportunity is open for immediate commencement.
Duties:
13. Provides support to the Payroll Team and the wider Finance Team on various projects
14. Provide advice and support for Payroll system implementation projects
15. Participate in project meetings
16. Leads and supports projects to enhance payroll processes.
17. Acts as the subject matter expert in payroll processes providing guidance and expert advice to enhance operational effectiveness.
18. Participates and supports implementation of system changes and upgrades as required.
19. Ensures the accuracy of information within the CHRIS21 system
20. Ensures that dealings with employees, leaders and others are undertaken in a customer focused manner, which support and promote the organisation’s Values around being person-centred
21. Contributes to the application and monitoring of HR practices, principles, and delegations.
22. Reviews payroll processes, identifies, and implements process improvement to ensure efficiencies
23. Ensures compliance with legislation and regulations, including (but not limited to) the Aged Care Act and associated Standards, Occupational Safety and Health, Equal Employment Opportunity.
24. Work in accordance with Baptistcare’s Code of Conduct.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
25. Previous experience with Payroll software and implementation (like Chris21, T1, Kronos, PageUp or similar)
26. Previous experience leading and supporting projects to enhance payroll processes
27. At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role processing payroll for 500+ employees
28. Solid understanding of awards, legislation and other requirements impacting on payroll production in the sector.
29. Demonstrated ability to interpret awards and agreements
30. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
31. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
32. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

34. Knowledge of computerised rostering systems and practice
