About the Role
WorkPac are seeking a Analytical Chemist on behalf of our client, you will manage and maintain critical laboratory instruments while supporting the daily operations of a busy research lab.
Working alongside experienced scientists, youll further develop your analytical skills, gain troubleshooting experience, and may also contribute to project-based research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain key analytical instruments (ion chromatography, carbon analyser, potentiometric titrator)
- Monitor instrument performance using QA tools such as control charts and logbooks
- Troubleshoot equipment and assist in resolving performance or data issues
- Support laboratory safety and implement process improvements
- Manage spare parts and consumables
- Perform general laboratory and facilities upkeep
- Assist with proficiency testing activities (e.g., sample splitting)
- Contribute to supervised technical projects as capacity allows
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field
- 23 years experience in an analytical laboratory
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes and statistical analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and Excel (including macros)
- Valid C Class Licence
